This is what we did:

Mesh prepared tender drawings and managed the first stage of the Pakenham Revitalisation project, focused on Main Street Gateway & Central. The project, completed in collaboration with Council, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, and Lighting Design, delivers a high-quality, safe, and cohesive public realm. This transformation aligns with the community's vision of 'A vibrant and active Pakenham,' featuring enhanced public spaces, improved movement for all users and innovative blue-green infrastructure integration.

This is how we did it:

As part of Mesh’s work on the Pakenham Activity Centre Public Realm Strategy, Main Street was identified as a pivotal element in the future revitalisation of the Activity Centre.

Several objectives and innovative highlights that contributed to the success of the project include:

Navigating and working with complex existing site conditions.

Enhancing accessibility by improving levels and movement to ensure universal access and DDA compliance.

Strengthening safety and connectivity across the streetscape, facilitating access to local businesses and parking areas.

Integrating Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and blue-green infrastructure through features like kerb cut-outs and soil cells.

Creating inviting public spaces for socialising, shopping, gathering, and dining.
